Bach: “Erbarme dich, mein Gott” – Aria from St. Matthew Passion, BWV 244 (arr. Harb)

Description

This is an arrangement for classical guitar of the haunting aria in J.S. Bach’s monumental St. Matthew Passion titled “Erbarme dich, mein Gott”.  The arrangement is a large excerpt of the aria and is intended to be performed solo. It reflects the orchestra and solo violin parts of the aria. A guitarist may also choose to perform it with a singer, given that it is sung in the key of E minor, the key signature of the arrangement.
