I am delighted to share my arrangement of the beloved Spanish folk tune Malagueña!
This unique arrangement is the result of a synthesis of ideas drawn from composers and performers such as Sabicas, Daniel Fortea, Francisco Tárrega, and others, combined with my own original compositional contributions. Among these, the Copla in the middle section is particularly special to me – it is my favourite part to perform!
Beyond its musical character, I designed this arrangement as a comprehensive technical study, incorporating the five pillars of classical guitar technique: arpeggios, scales, tremolo, left-hand slurs, and rasgueados. My aim was to create a piece that is both musically rewarding and technically purposeful, allowing these essential techniques to be developed within the context of a compelling and enjoyable work.
